ABOUT THE ROLE
As a member of the VDC/BIM team, you will be engaged in key projects and initiatives to drive new revenues and improve processes. While partnered with a mentor/coach, you will support the project BIM coordinator in all phases of – Pre-construction Planning, Prefabrication, and detailing throughout the electrical construction process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the preparation of contract drawings, details and sketches from conceptual design through tender to construction for building structures using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and related software products.
- Investigate and recommend process improvements for efficiency gains
- Work with counterparts from other trades to develop clash free construction models
- Prepare layout drawings for material installation on site.
REQUIREMENTS
As the successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Have obtained or are working toward a Diploma in BIM/CAD field, Construction Management, or a related field of study.
- Basic Knowledge of construction protocols and processes and a developing ability to interpret contract documents (drawings and specifications)
- Familiarity with electrical construction products and installation methods
- Recent training and/or experience with Building Information Modeling software (BIM) is strongly preferred
- Understanding of electrical construction principles
- Basic knowledge of the building electrical code
- Proficiency with Autodesk products (Autocad, Revit, Navisworks), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with direction
